General George Patton, discussed in my last column, once observed, “Moral courage is the most valuable and usually the most absent characteristic in men.” His comment comes to mind in light of the latest tremendous blows patriots have taken from the Left.
These blows have come, as they increasingly do, from leftist lawfare. Pounded by a biased judge and enormous, politically charged lawsuits, Fox News abruptly settled one suit for just south of $1 billion and jettisoned Tucker Carlson. President Trump was criminally indicted in Manhattan in the Stormy Daniels felony “fraud” case. Across town, Trump was found liable for sexual abuse and rung up for $5 million in civil damages after a leftist judge openly sabotaged his defense.
I could go on, and have gone on in recent columns and podcasts. Frankly, few others have taken the time to notice and properly explain these menacing events and trends, preferring to let the next wave of news wash over it all like the tide. This brief recitation of the mounting challenges we face—and the failure of conservative leaders to address them—is to reinforce an appeal I’m about to make.
Starting next week, Resurgence will begin a paid subscription fee of $5 a month to receive new columns or podcasts (save for free offerings once in a while). My hope is that you might find $5 a month (or $60 for a one-year subscription) to help support urgently needed new ideas to take ground again against an advancing, vicious Left that the conservative leadership class has failed utterly to halt.
Why We’re Losing
I know fellow conservatives and patriots very well, so I believe I understand you, my readers, well. You are generous lovers of country. Almost all of you have supported candidates and causes for years, trying to turn things around as our nation continues its long slide downward.
For those who are unsure about becoming a paid subscriber to Resurgence, I respectfully pose a question: Are the causes you support better off today than they were years ago when you started giving to Republican candidates and conservative organizations?
The obvious answer, sadly, is no. Every year we steadily lose ground.
Consider the issue of marriage and gender. When I began writing for national publications, the main battle was affirming marriage and opposing unwed motherhood (the “Murphy Brown” debate). A decade later we had lost decisively, and the new topic was fighting same-sex marriage. That battle also was lost. Now, we’ve retreated further yet again. The current pathetic battleground: holding the line against militant transgenderism and drag-queen recruiting efforts targeting preschool children.
I could just as easily talk about the long, shameful retreat against illegal immigration and a host of other issues. But I trust you see my point. What the dominant conservative leaders and institutions—known collectively as Conservative, Inc.—have been doing, for decades, is not working.
The major conservative leaders, organizations (that includes foundations, Christian and legal groups, and many more familiar names) and media failed to stop any of this. Few genuinely tried, or they would bear far more battle scars. With the shining exception of President Trump and a handful of other notably brave leaders, all of these figures and institutions of the Right have ownership of this crisis. They have been running the show and failing to offer much of a fight while pocketing your money.
Are the causes you support better off today than they were years ago when you started giving to Republican candidates and conservative organizations?
Just look at all the talking-head “conservative” Fox News hosts we’ve listened to loyally for years. When their colleague Tucker Carlson was dumped overboard for showing real anti-establishment spine, they said nothing—and kept their lucrative jobs. Some reportedly just got a promotion. Yes, they say very articulately what we want to hear, just like every RINO leader of the past half century. But conservative leaders who say what we want to hear, but ultimately lose meekly to the Left while enriching and empowering themselves, are in the end nothing but manipulative traitors to our movement.
To continue to shovel money, time and loyalty to such discredited collaborators is simply crazy. If that’s the best we can do, candidly, we deserve to lose.
How We Win (and Resurgence’s Role in that Victory)
For $5 a month, you will receive from Resurgence:
· Two articles and a podcast each week that will be thoughtful, original and aggressive in taking the fight to the Left. Already I’ve broken key analysis not seen elsewhere: The only comprehensive discussion of the lawfare against President Trump; analysis of the leftist judge’s sabotage of Fox News’ litigation and a correct prediction that Fox News would then turn on its own viewers (i.e., the sacking of Tucker Carlson); the betrayal of MAGA by Trump campaign attorney Jenna Ellis; how a biased judge torpedoed Trump in his sex-assault civil trial; and many other examples. You haven’t, and won’t, receive this information and analysis anywhere else because other writers (1) are auditioning for Fox News and don’t want to alienate establishment media or personalities and/or (2) lack the requisite years of experience and insights learned in fierce political and cultural combat.
· Urgently needed new ideas. My “Fortress Strategy” is but one of many strategies and tactics I’ll be offering on how to win this twilight struggle against the surging evil of the Left. My successful efforts against illegal immigration in Arizona shook the international establishment for a period of time until they counterattacked with superior forces. These and other effective ideas can be employed again, this time with lasting success, if we are united and find the will to fight.
· Courage. There simply isn’t enough of it these days. Supporting Resurgence allows you to foster courage, one quality that we see little of these days among leaders in any major field. You can read more about my story here if you haven’t already. I offer an independent voice unbeholden to others, forged by some of the toughest political and cultural battles this country has seen.
Again, what Conservative, Inc. is doing is not working. Yet even now we can prevail against the Left if we find the guts, determination and vision to act decisively and turn things around. That means, among other things, trying something new instead of the same ol’ same ol’.
To continue to shovel money, time and loyalty to such discredited collaborators is simply crazy. If that’s the best we can do, candidly, we deserve to lose.
Resurgence has grown very fast thanks to loyal readers such as you. When I launched Resurgence, I promised to be bold, independent and innovative in taking the fight to the Left. I hope that you feel I’ve kept that promise, and that you’ll support my continued, multipronged efforts to offer fresh and forceful proposals to make things right again. Of course, you can cancel your paid subscription anytime if you decide the efforts are not worth supporting. Many of you already have pledged generously, and I’m very gratified by your support.
You will have one more chance to sign up for a paid subscription next week when you receive a prompt with my Tuesday column. However, please sign up for your paid subscription today.
Thank you again for your companionship on this journey thus far. If you’ll support this effort a bit farther, I’m confident that together we’ll help put an end to the long, literally demoralizing retreat we’ve been experiencing—and take ground once again.
I’M IN, ANDREW!
You have fresh ideas desperately needed by a patriotic resurgence. You know Maricopa County AZ well, and as MC goes, so goes the country. Here, citizens are taking things into hand by filing Remonstrances with the civil authorities, especially with regard to election integrity. I would appreciate any insight on that type of effort.
May God continue to Bless you, your family, and your mission.
