My cynical view is they're sitting back and waiting for Trump to fall so THEY can vie to become the next leader of the GOP faithful. I've got news for them: Trump will command more respect and loyalty from a prison cell than they will from the floor of the U.S. Senate.
My even more cynical view is establishment Gop is doing everything in their power to marginalize and take Trump and his supporters down, trying desperately not to leave any trace of their involvement.
Lots of it’s just pretending this Democratic lawfare junk is normal, and it’s just because Trump is guilty.
J6 Political Prisoners is a great example of this.
I suspect this is a lone wolf thought: I view the irony that the only salvation for the American Republic is a temporary Oliver Cromwell-style dictatorship to eradicate the scum the now shredded Constitution cannot accomplish.
Great historical comparison or at least analogue. Cromwell commanded troops, among other differences, but unquestionably we need a very strong person to marshal resources and win these cultural battles and I see no one on the horizon with the strength and proven courage of Trump, warts and all (couldn't help but borrow that saying given Cromwell reference above).
